8 screens. Built 1987. Operated by Landmark since 2003. Located in the Midtown Promenade Center (at 8th & Monroe), the Midtown Art Cinema is quickly becoming the premier home for independent, foreign language and documentary films in the heart of intown Atlanta.
The renovated lobby is a sight to see! The concession stand boasts a fine selection to choose from including gourmet candies, baked goods and a full espresso bar. The art deco design is an inviting place for guests to meet and visit with friends before a film. It does not take more than a few steps outside of the theatre to enjoy international cuisine at not one, but two restaurants in the courtyard. Several other eateries are also located in the shopping center.

Expect most of the typical refreshments you'd find at any suburban megatheatre, but the extra touches such as wine and hot tea, remind you that you are in town. This theatre emphasizes substance over form, as the quality of films shown here exceeds suburbia's offerings.

This is an old theater in a great location. It could really use some cleanup. Carpet, paint, and a little TLC would be nice to have. Still, gotta love this place...
