The University Jazz Band and director Gordon Vernick will be joined by special guest Joe Lovano, a Grammy Award-winning saxophonist and composer, who has played alongside the likes of Herbie Hancock, Abbey Lincoln, McCoy Tyner, Ornette Coleman, and Ravi Coltrane. Lovano's acclaimed career is marked by his fearless determination to push the conceptual and thematic choices he makes in his quest for what defines the jazz idiom.
