Growing up in the San Francisco Bay, the 1st music that made me want to sing was Soul Music. In the midst of the psychedelic 60ʼs & The Summer of Love, on thru the 70's, my constant radio station was KDIA (Oakland). My harmonica playing eventually led me to appreciate & play other types of music, but my
1st love was this music. I was afraid to sing it for a long time, & Iʼm still careful, b/c this is “singers” music for sure & many of the great performances can not & should not be duplicated.
