Until Ringling Bros Circus retires its entire exotic animal acts, my family will never attend one of their shows. If your family loves these animals you will not attend either. Once I saw the abusive methods they use to train their baby elephants to perform I knew then that these elephants were clearly being abused. http://www.ringlingbeatsanimals.com/bound-babies.asphttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdQPSy9zPVA
Ringling’s recent $270,000 fine for 24 violations of the Animal Welfare Act is just more evidences. http://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_welfare/downloads/FEI_signed_agreement.pdf. One of those 24 violations was especially egregious. Sarah a 54 year old performing elephant was not provided medical care multiple times for serious health problems, but made to continue to perform. http://media.signonsandiego.com/news/documents/2011/07/13/elephant.pdf.
If Ringling puts on The Greatest Show on Earth then there is no reason why they can’t continue on with just their Human Performers.
