Stories in Form: Chair Design by the Portfolio Center, is an exhibition honoring history & design through the medium of the chair. This exhibit is based on the Portfolio Center’s course “Modernism: History, Criticism & Theory.” Through this course, students create chairs by combining inspiration from a historical period with personal experience. Each chair will be accompanied by the story of its creation, as well as demonstrating the design process that brings these chairs into being.
