Kyle Sherrill, Stephen Luscre, Mick Mayer and Patrick Mayer make up the entity known as Red Sea. Red Sea's sound has been labeled across the press and growing "blogosphere" as noise/drone pop, progressive noise rock, dream pop, amongst other scrupulous specifications, ever since the debut of their "Weird Problem" EP at the tail end of 2010. Their music combines imagination, juxtaposition, and harmony to compose the whimsical and progressive sound that has become the staple of their musical creations.… Show more Influences include groups such as Cocteau Twins, Stereolab, Women, and many others of the past. In Creative Loafing's "Best of Atlanta" judging, Red Sea was awarded the title of "Best Indie Rock Underdogs" for the year of 2011. Now, with the release of a new single entitled "Tandem Stye", debuted on Creative Loafing's Crib Notes just days ago, they give a glimpse of what is to come in the future. This debut will be celebrated with a "single release party" on August 6th at the Earl; Red Sea's first show back in Atlanta in nearly half a year.
