Children's Workshop

Sunday, Nov 4, 2012 2:00p to 4:00p

Visualize Greek and Roman figurative sculpture, white and carved of stone as they appear in the formal setting of a museum; and then imagine the same sculpture colorfully painted as research suggests they were originally. In this workshop, discover the traces of color on sculpture in the Greek and Roman collections and paint a plaster reproduction in lively colors and patterns based on what is now known of painted sculpture from the classical world. For ages 8 to 12 years.
