Commemorating 280 years of Jews in Georgia
In 1773, Georgia's first Jewish settlers arrived in Savannah. These Jewish families worked together to form Congregation Mickve Israel in Savannah, the third oldest synagogue in America. A descendant of one of these families,freelance journalist Carolyn Wildes Cunningham, will discuss why Gen.Oglethorpe allowed the Jewish settlers to stay.
