Aerosmith was one of the most popular hard rock bands of the '70s, setting the style and sound of hard rock and heavy metal for the next two decades with their raunchy, bluesy swagger. The Boston-based quintet found the middle ground between the menace of the Rolling Stones and the campy, sleazy fla

Aerosmith.....thieves.

They've cancelled 8 shows in a row until tonite's at Aaron's (formerly Lakewood/Hi Fi Buys) Amphitheatre. "Artist injury" was the word but yet the show did go on and I figured it would be incredible. Band is back well almost, Tom Hamilton is out but Brad Whitford is back so it's going to be a killer show. After a reasonably mediocre performance from ZZ Top to open the show, at 9:31pm Aerosmith finally took the stage and opened with Eat the Rich, the same track that opens the "A Little South of Sanity" CD. They followed that up with Falling in Love, Rag Doll, Back in the Saddle, then Walkin the Dag. Great, interesting opening songs I thought - it was supposed to be the Toys in the Attic album set but not tonite. OK Fine....mix it up on me, I like it when you don't know the set mix. At one point Steven told the crowd "I've been injured before and I could perform....I'll perform again. Yet soon after that it looked like his leg, his voice, his whole persona started to unravel. Only 7 more songs were played until he told the crowd...."we're cutting it short tonight, please don't hate me." with whatever semblance of voice he still had left. Band leaves stage and returns with encore of a lame Joe Perry Guitar Hero rock duel with an Avatar, Stop Messin Around from Honkin on Bobo - which Joe Perry sang (we all figured Steven is done, right?) But instead of perhaps a mellow version of "Dream On" we get "Draw the Line" possibly the hardest song he could pick to sing with a voice that was "a gonna." The band played for an hour and 5 minutes with a 14 song set list. NO Toys in the Attic, NO Dream On, NO Sweet Emotion, nothing from Toys in the Attic. Hmmmm, somethings going on and it ain't good fellas.

They ought to be ashamed of themselves charging $200+ FACE VALUE as well as embarrassed. Want to be real men and do what's right? Either offer a makeup show date for the awful performance tonight, or refund money to those who request it. I work too hard to be taken advantage of.

Discussion outside the venue shortly after the gig was that this band, and perhaps forever, is done.
