Journalist Remembers Cold War Survivor
Tuesday, Oct 27, 2009 7:00p
Emmy award-winning journalist Lynne Joiner presents a little known but illuminating chapter of Cold War history as she discusses her book Honorable Survivor: Mao's China, McCarthy's America and the Persecution of John S. Service. A book signing will follow, with copies of Honorable Survivor on sale from A Cappella Books.
Service predicted Mao Tse-tung's successful revolution, and, subsequently, he became Sen. Joseph McCarthy's first victim.
