Stumbled upon Paces 88 last night (Jan 11, 2010). IT turned out to be one of the most surprising and delightful dining experiences that I have had in past year. The menu offerings were very unique with a fusion of southern favorites (Venison, Fried Chicken) with European influences.
My 3 companions and myself began with the Chicken liver Pate with sweet pickles, and a dijon mustard preparation that was very spicy (you are warned to go lightly with it)on toast points. We also had a plate of a variety of cheeses and preserved fruits.
My entree was the friedn chicken that was marinaded in buttermilk with sides of haricot verts and mac with truffled cheese. It was nothing less than perfect. My friends entrees included the blackened cod, the Australian lamb and beef tip. We were all more than pleasantly surprised by flavorings and absolute perfect preparing of all dishes.
For dessert I had three small fried pumpkin turnovers.
I personally give this restaurant a 4 star rating; and reccommmend it without reservation.

Without question, one of the most dominant traits of this year’s restaurant scene is hotel dining. Despite the recession, hotels — notably high-end hotels — have opened, and with them comes a slew of restaurants: Pacci inside the Palomar, Livingston inside the Georgian Terrace and Paces 88 inside the St. Regis Atlanta.
