Chef-owner Paolo Tondo of Taverna Fiorentina seems to have led a circuitous life’s route — from a technical degree growing up in Florence, to importing and distributing Italian specialty equipment for the restaurant industry in San Francisco, to co-owning, with Jasmin Reyes, his own restaurant on Cobb Parkway. When Paolo Tondo left San Francisco to open his own eatery, he knew that the Big A was the place to be. The native of Italy found a location that has a neighborhood feel yet is close to Vinings and Buckhead. His new Taverna Fiorentina is part of the revamped Kroger shopping center.
