Turtles & Trowels

Saturday, May 21, 2011 10:00a to 2:00p

Join us as we celebrate World Turtle Day and Archaeology Month. Did you know the United States has more native turtle species than anywhere on Earth? Meet real live turtles from around the world and in your own backyard. Participate in turtle crafts and activities then head over to learn about archaeology. Throw an atlatl, make pottery, and weave your own basket like early Creek and Cherokee people. Test your skills at identifying artifacts and help put the pieces back together.
