Raised in the American southwest, singer/songwriter Patrick Park began writing music and playing in bands as a middle-school student. His mother was a published poet and his father was deep-rooted in folk and blues, and the young Park -- whose family lived a stone's throw from the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater -- took inspiration from those parents, eventually developing an folksy, acoustic sound that would later permeate his records....
As a young guitarist growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Charlie Hunter was looking for a way to stand out in the '80s. His primary influences were jazz great Joe Pass and the fluid Tuck Andress (of the guitar/vocal duo Tuck & Patti), both six-string guitarists who were adept at blending bass notes into their standard guitar melodies to make themselves sound like two musicians at once....
An organizer by nature, Jersey native Scott Amendola has become a creative nexus for a community of musicians stretching from Los Angeles and Seattle to Chicago and New York. Amendola's inspiration stems from such stylistic influences as African music, jazz, blues, spirituals, rock, and the avant garde....
Slaughterhouse is a hip hop supergroup consisting of rappers Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, and Royce da 5'9". They are currently signed to Shady and Interscope. ~AXS
Conjuring a virtual indie rock orchestra out of its two members, Bad Veins emerged from the Cincinnati scene in the late-'00s with a diverse sound slyly incorporating electro, space rock, New Wave, goth, and shoegazer....

He's the electro boy with links to the folkie scene (Communion Records included one of his tracks on their recent New Faces compilation), a multi-instrumentalist whose songwriting prowess has impressed everyone from former Beatles to legends in the world of fashion and design....
Chuck Ragan's bracing new release Till Midnight once again confirms what the iconoclastic singer-songwriter's fans have known all along: that he's a deeply compelling songwriter and an effortlessly charismatic performer, as well as a true believer in music's ability to illuminate and inspire....
The first things you notice are the voice and the space. That voice belongs to Nathaniel Rateliff, a man who’s earned the twang and hard-knock weariness that shines through on his Rounder debut. The space comes courtesy of producer Brian Deck (Califone, Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse), who helped transform 8-track bedroom demos into miniature epics of contrast, beauty, and yearning....
