Literacy Volunteers of Atlanta (LVA) and The Art Institute of Atlanta invite enterprising chefs to unleash their imagination and culinary talents for the Seventh Annual Edible Book Festival on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010. This year, the traditional springtime event has been re-positioned to coincide with the AJC-Decatur Book Festival during Labor Day Weekend.
The Edible Book Festival originated as a fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers of Atlanta, the only literacy organization in metro Atlanta providing one-on-one tutoring and 30 classes a week at no charge to students.

Culinary and educational organizations, restaurants, artists, book lovers, and the general public are all encouraged to compete, or simply to stop in and admire the many clever creations.
All who enter are asked to create a piece of edible art related to books – old or new, fiction, non-fiction, plays, poetry, etc. Imagination is the name of the game. The entries will be on exhibit from 10am-2pm on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Art Institute of Atlanta, One West Court Square, Decatur, GA, 30030.

The Edible Book Festival is a benefit for Literacy Volunteers of Atlanta. There are two entry categories: one for professional chefs ($25 to enter), another for home chefs ($5 to enter). For registration form: www.lvama.org.
