Dance Class - Ballet/Tap

This combo class offers alternating weeks of ballet and tap instruction. Emphasis will be placed on ballet and barre technique, Ballet terminology, tap progressions across the floor, tap combinations and simple choreography. Students will develop coordination, flexibility and grace through ballet; as well as beat, tempo and rhythm awareness through song and tap dance. The Spring Recital on May 18 is the highlight of our dance season, and provides students with a live stage performance opportunity.… Show more Students must be registered by January 25 to be eligible to perform in the Spring Recital. A separate, non-refundable fee of $80 is payable to Daystar Dance Academy for one costume and a pair of tights, recital tickets and facility charges. Students in more than one class may be required to purchase additional costumes at $50/ea. Fees will be divided into two payments: The first payment of $55 is due the week of January 28. The second payment of $25 is due the week of March 4. Attire: Pink or black leotard, pink or tan tights, pink ballet shoes, and black tap shoes (for girls); White t-shirt, black basketball shorts, black ballet shoes and black tap shoes for boys. Dance wear is available for purchase through the instructor. Long hair should be worn in a pony tail. Short hair should be pulled away from the face.
