The Wonderful Days of Winter Race starts with a 5K race at 8 a.m. and 1-mile run Saturday Jan. 5 at St. James' Episcopal Church, 161 Church St., Marietta. The eighth-annual race benefits the tuition-free Wonderful Days Preschool, Inc., a program to help at-risk 3 and 4-year-old children prepare for kindergarten. This is the school's largest fundraiser-raising about $125,000 in seven years.
