The name conjures an adult toy store. And on a recent evening, most of the people who entered the peculiar realm of Loving Hut in Peachtree Corners seemed to be giggling. But the strangest thing about this chain vegan restaurant is that it's the spawn of a New Age guru, who has bestowed upon herself the title of the Supreme Master Ching Hai. (Full review)

Nice, but somewhat creepy

Unlike the previous review, I am not a vegan but decided to try the place because it looked adventurous. My wife and I went and had mixed views about the place. I admit that I am an omnivore, but I don't believe that should exclude anyone from writing a review of a place that is vegan, saying so is simply ignorance.

As far as the food, it tastes good. We had the spring rolls, which if you go, I would recommend. She had the vegan burger which she said was ok, but would have preferred a veggie burger as opposed to tofu.

I had their rendition of masaman curry which I found to be good. The veggies were fresh, but the tofu was too rubbery. Again, I would have much preferred more heartier veggies versus a protein substitute. Also, the curry sauce was ok but could have had more spice to it, which was definately lacking.

I think the thing that will jar people the most is the TV blarring the Supreme Master TV station. As a normal, adjusted American with a background in international studies, I can appreciate the attempts that are made to make the place as green as possible (hell, I even drive a Prius) but here it is too much in your face. I have already entered the restaurant and ordered, why do I need to have this theme crammed down my throat while I eat? Just let me try to enjoy my food.

We will not be going back due to the atmosphere and constant attempts at trying to provide protein substitutes which seem to ruin the dishes. I admit that we all should probably eat a little less meat than what we do, but please do so where it is sensible, like the original author suggests.

Best Vegan Food OTP

Finally! A restaurant that is not in downtown Atlanta serving my kind of food! My favorite is the hamburger with an ice cold root beer float. We also enjoy their fried tofu apetizer and "Sun and Moon" dessert (cookies with chocolate and vanilla vegan ice cream) I also have enjoyed their BBQ.

The best part -- no dead cow guts to spoil your diner! This vegetarian highly recommends a trip to Norcross to this restaurant for all vegans in North Georgia.

Which begs the question: Why do carnivores insist that a meal is only a meal if it contains portions of slaughtered, unhealthy and environmentally-bad animal tissue? Are they trying to convert the vegans towards their diabolical cause? Never send a carnivore to review a vegan restaurant -- they just won't understand. We vegans eat far more than just "lettuce and cucumbers" thank you.

Dead cows do not make a burger taste good -- good cooking skills do. "Be Veg! Go Green!"
