Vintage Wedding Dresses Exhibit

Saturday, Jun 2, 2012 10:00a to 4:00p

During World War II many supplies & staple products were in limited supply, rationed or not available at all in the civilian market. It was common for wedding dresses and other clothing to be made of silk parachutes during and after the war. Featured is a dress made from a parachute for war bride Joan Bartlett of England that married 501st Paratrooper,Glenn Bartlett in 1945. During the month of June, dresses on display are at least 50 years old and the exhibit is included in museum admission fee.
